Stock up: 6 summer must haves for photographers

summer essentials

Summertime is such a magical time of year to photograph outdoors. While photographing clients and my own family, there are certain essentials I make sure to have with me throughout my busy season. Making a list of these essentials helps keep my camera bag ready and stocked so that I am prepared throughout the season.

1. Girls Day Out Leather Camera Bag by SHUTTERbag

First, we need a cute camera bag to hold these essentials, right? I cannot wait to order this Girls Day Out bag in Peacock Blue this summer. It is the perfect size and summer companion for my gear and a few extras. It has two zippered pockets on both sides of the camera compartment in the middle. It will be exclusively available in the Clickin Moms store. $299

2. Business Cards from Miller’s Professional Imaging

It might seem like a silly thing to place on this list, but I find that this time of year I am always running low on business cards. It is the perfect time to order new cards and stock a new supply in my camera bag. Miller’s offers business cards in sets of 100 and has a variety of papers available. My favorite is the Classic Felt paper – it is thick and has a luxurious feel to it. You can order single or double sided cards and free overnight shipping is included. Rounded corners and multiple luxe shapes are available. Starting at $20

3. Bridetastic Deluxe Emergency Kit by Pinch Provisions

Even though this is a bridal emergency kit, it comes in handy even for family sessions! It has four smaller compartments inside which are separated into Personal, Beauty, Fashion and Bridal categories. With everything from static remover, bobby pins, hair spray, blotting tissues and more, the 101 must haves are the perfect emergency accessories to keep handy during sessions. $75

4. Photography Tees by Simply Sage Market

A cute, lightweight tee is perfect for the hot summer weather. Made from 100% cotton and available in sizes S-XL, multiple colors and designs are available. My favorite is the ‘Shoot Like a Girl’ tee in white and I am thinking about buying it in gray too. $19.99

5. The Photographer’s Pouch by PhotoJojo

This felt bag is the perfect place to store extra memory cards, your phone and anything that you don’t want right next to your camera gear. It has a strip of Velcro on the back of the bag so that it can be secured in any camera bag. It is four inches wide and six inches tall when closed, the perfect size to hold the extras in your camera bag. $12

6. PEC*PADs

PEC*PADs are extremely soft and 99.999% lint free photo wipes. They are soft enough to be used on your camera lenses and I love that they are disposable. They come in packs of 100 and one pack will easily last you the entire year. They can be used with PEC-12 or Eclipse solutions for even better cleaning. $8.50
