Session: Photography by Drew Saiz
I met Drew Saiz as he was graduating from high school and was on his way to his first year of college. He was memorable to me for many reasons. His smile was wide and genuine, he was chatty and personable, and he loved photography. If I were fifteen years younger, he would be my best friend.
As I watched him work that day, I could see he was something special as an artist. He had an eye for light and a way of getting people to interact in front of his camera that felt natural and unforced. He was also eager to learn and improve and as I have watched his work over the past two years, I have seen that hunger transform into full-blown talent.
In this adorable family session, not only do we see the personalities of Drew’s subjects blossom in front of the camera, but we also see Drew himself in every frame. The bright color palette, the playful posing, the creative little details he takes time to document — it all hearkens back to that bubbly kid with a camera I met a couple of years ago who has worked tirelessly at his craft. Drew Saiz is young and gifted — most definitely a photographer to watch.
